Stop Clearcutting California

The EPFW-supported Stop Clearcutting California (SCC) Campaign is distributing a form for individuals, groups, and businesses to sign to express their opposition to massive clearcutting and to demand action from the State of California to stop it. The SCC Campaign wants businesses, faith-based organizations, community groups, tribal councils, recreation clubs, homeowner organizations as well as individuals to join the coalition so the combined impact of our voices can be used to effect meaningful change. SCC will soon be rolling out some action strategies and the more support that can be shown, the more likely for success in severely limiting clearcutting in California. Please download the Stop Clearcutting form, sign it, and send it to EPFW. Download several forms and distribute them to friends and organizations. You can also fill out the form online and send it to us directly from this web page or contact us for forms to be sent to you. Distribute these to groups and individuals and help us Stop Clearcutting California.

THE COALITION TO STOP CLEARCUTTING CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION

Industrial-scale clearcutting is:

• Converting California's diverse forests to fire-prone tree plantations,
• Endangering wildlife and their habitat,
• Threatening water quality,
• Promoting extensive use of chemical herbicides,
• Contributing to global climate change,
• Damaging private property values and businesses in affected regions, and
• Destroying the state's natural beauty.

We, citizens of California and supporters of responsible logging, call upon the Governor of California, Legislature of California, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and the Environmental and Natural Resources agencies of the State of California to use all means at their disposal to end this destructive practice.
